Lane Transit District
EmX Bus Rapid Transit
Eugene/Springfield, Oregon
Architect: Parsons-Brinkerhoff
Completion Date: July 2004
Project Cost: $12 million
Services provided by Balzhiser & Hubbard Engineers:
Electrical and Civil Engineering and Surveying
Balzhiser & Hubbard Engineers provided civil engineering and surveying for the development of the Lane Transit District (LTD) EmX BRT alignment and
station plans for the pilot corridor from the Eugene station to the Springfield station. Our civil engineering department provided utility coordination
and permitting coordination for both of the phases of EmX that developed infrastructure in rights-of-way under the jurisdiction of the City of Springfield,
City of Eugene and ODOT. We also provided the topographic design survey and construction staking.
Much of the surveying work, including the design topographic survey of the entire route from downtown Eugene to downtown Springfield, was performed for
Parsons-Brinkerhoff, who provided the primary design services for the project. Other survey work, including right-of-way acquisition documents and the
partition required for the Springfield Station site, was done directly for LTD. Our survey staff also did the construction layout for the Springfield
and Franklin Blvd segments of the project.
