Our public infrastructure improvement work has generally been a response to facilitate proposed development, whether a specific site or regional
development. The purposes often vary from providing street connectivity, improving pedestrian and vehicle safety, accommodating increased traffic
impacts, improving the condition of roadways, providing regional storm water treatment, rerouting existing systems, developing sewer systems in areas
previously not served, to extending and connecting water utility grids. However, the end result is the provision of new or upgraded public street and
utility infrastructure to ensure safe access and adequate utility services for the developing community, be it one new building or regional development.
Balzhiser & Hubbard Engineers has facilitated and designed public street and utility infrastructure improvements in 10 Oregon municipalities in the past
13 years. We have provided our services to municipalities directly in response to competitive proposal requests or through on-call services agreements.
And, we have provided services for the development of public infrastructure in association with private, site development projects. Our expertise includes
planning, design surveys, design, bid period assistance, construction administration and inspection, and as-built records. Project experience includes new
public streets and alleys; new public storm drain systems, including regional stormwater treatment facilities; new sanitary sewer systems, including
trunk-line systems; rehabilitation of existing wastewater systems; and new public water lines.
