Although teaching and education theory has changed over the years, the role of education buildings in communities has not. Education buildings symbolize
the community desire to provide a good future for their citizens and often last the lifetime of many residents. Balzhiser & Hubbard Engineers recognizes
the important role these buildings have in communities, and we work to accommodate that role. Our work includes mechanical, electrical, and civil
engineering for primary and secondary schools, community colleges, and universities. We work with the architect to provide an environment that encourages
and beckons students to enter, participate and learn. We design to enhance the learning environment through good lighting, life safety, ventilation, and
temperature control. Products are selected to serve the needs of our client and to last the lifetime of the building.
Balzhiser & Hubbard Engineers has provided engineering design to school districts from Medford to Tigard, from Brookings to Hermiston, and from Coos Bay
to Burns.
Balzhiser & Hubbard Engineers also has a long history with Oregon colleges and universities. We were involved in the original construction of Lane
Community College; we have worked on most buildings at Oregon State University; and we have worked on more than 500 projects at the University of Oregon,
including the construction, renovation or upgrade of virtually every building, hall, complex, playing field / structure, and facility on the campus.
