Building systems commissioning has been advocated for mechanical and electrical systems for many years. In recent years commissioning has
increasingly been recognized for the increased energy savings and healthier indoor environments that result from well tuned and fully verified
systems. Energy Codes and Standards recognize that systems that operate in accordance with the intended sequence of operations use less energy.
The USGBC also recognizes that commissioning provides a large benefit to a building project. Fundamental Commissioning is a prerequisite to
receiving any level of LEED® certification. A point toward LEED certification is awarded for "additional commissioning" to the fundamental
requirements.
Balzhiser & Hubbard Engineers has assembled a group of specialists to address the need for qualified mechanical and electrical system
commissioning agents. BHE can provide these services integrated with the design for a project or as a separate service acting as the third party
